Overcaster HUB

(Overcaster.lsc)

The Overcaster hub is used to run the building blocks (Also called subscripts or modules) of Overcaster from one place. The hub itself doesn't actually do anything to your scene, it just calls for the other scripts that DO something.

This is the Overcaster hub interface. Unless the user changes some of the settings, it will do nothing.

Overcaster hub is divided in three parts, let's look at them separately:

Set Ambient

Here you can select what you wish to use for the general ambient light in your scene. Only one of the variants can be selected at one time.

1. Skip
If this is selected (The default) Overcaster will not do anything to your ambient light.

2. OC Ambimage
This will run the ambimage script, which will let you select to get your global ambient illumination from the scene background, an image, or adjust it manually.

3. OC Ambient
This will set you up with the traditional, Morph Mixer controlled overcaster ambient lighting.

4. OC Innercaster
Choose this if you are building an interior scene.

Add OC Lights

Here you can add various Overcaster spinning lights. Adjust the sliders or type in the number of instances you wish to add for each light type. If the number is zero, no lights will be added.

Rule of thumb: A spot is a spot, the sun is distant, and theres an area in the window. And tube is linear.

What a stupid sentence ;-)

Add OC Shadowers

Use this to add soft shadows to your objects. Adjust the slider or type in the number of instances you wish to add.

Exclude OC lighting from an object

This toggle is used to launch OC Exclude, an utility that let's you selectively include or exclude diffuse and specular shading and/or shadows from a given object.
