The return of the chrome blob

Allright, let's make the blob object metallic. Hmm... how to do that? Well, let's turn on reflections!

But, to keep things rendering fast, let's make a reflection map for the object.

We will make a spherical reflection map from the point of view of the blob object. As we will render this map from inside the Blobby.lwo object, set the object unseen by camera, so that it will not block our view!

Run RefGen1 LScript.

Select the Blobby object as the RefGen parent object, and click OK. You will be prompted to save the current scene. You can save it with whatever name you wish -

Next there is a popup that requests a camera name. It does not matter what you type here, the script will rename the camera later.

Click OK when you are asked if you wish to render the scene. The rendering shouldn't take more than a minute or two.

After rendering is finished, make sure you have image viewer as the render display, and then run RefGen2 LScript.  Accept the default settings, and say yes when asked if you wish to render the scene.

Save the rendered panorama from the image viewer.
