NGC 5474 is a strangely formed small companion of M101. The nucleus is lifted out of disk and although the shape seems to be almost spherical it also shows some tendency of spiral arms. The gravitation of M101 is the source of distortion of the galaxy. It can be found in UMa less than a degree below M101.
