Contesting with two HF radios
'SO2T' Single Op class with Two Transceivers
Support for two HF radio contesting has been built in and uses
one log file. OH2GI-HAM SYSTEM supports two TNCs. One of the TNCs
can be a dual-port TNC for simultaneous DX-Cluster access and HF radio
operation while another TNC can be configured for the same or the
second HF radio.
In addition Support for two Computers in Network enviroment has been built in
and uses two mirror log files. Up to four TNC's can be configured in the Net
(two in Host Computer and two in Quest Computer)

Some practical examples follow.
- Two transceivers on two bands
For example one HF radio is being operated on 20m, while another HF
radio monitors 40m. If the 40m radio shows activity, that radio can
be swapped active by a function-key and the operation can
be continued on that band, while the 20m radio stays monitoring.
The proper band for the log and Rig-control can be set by a function-key.
Simultaneous CQ's can be transmitted on both bands by their respective
- One radio and two TNC's
The same HF signal can be monitored by two TNC's. For example a
Kantronics KAM as a TNC-1 and a sound-card modem as a TNC-2 the received
signal can be seen on two screen areas at the same time. An evaluation
version of BITTY DSP modem by K6STI is included in the downloaded program package.
One HF radio and a separate receiver with dedicated antennas
HF signals on the same frequency can be separated from each others
by using two receivers with dedicated antennas. The antennas may both
be directional beaming different continents or a combination of
a beam and an omnidirectional antenna. In this arrangement a weak
signal coming from the side of the main beam heading may be recovered.
