Luna's Last Days

We knew nothing about Luna's lung cancer before. Luna had been in agility previous Friday 2010-08-13. She walked the normal routes on leash on Saturday and Sunday without any marks of serious illness. Even on Monday morning Luna run with our other dogs in the dog yard.

On Monday 2010-08-16 evening Antti went with Luna and our two other dogs to a walk. He called about ten minutes later that Luna had collapsed and refused to stand up. We brought Luna with our car and drove directly to Viikki, where Small Animal Hospital of Veterinary Teaching Hospital lies. Their diagnosis was that a disk in Luna's spine had bulged.

Luna had a lump in her neck. Because of this we had ordered earlier a time at Lohjan pieneläinklinikka on Tuesday 2010-08-17. Luna was able to walk 50 meters Tuesday morning before I had carry her back home. Then I drove with Luna to Lohja, but I had to carry her at veterinarian. The lump was found harmless. Luna got antibiotics and the lump should be removed on next Tuesday.

Luna didn't sleep between the night Tuesday and Wednesday. She didn't eat any more, but drunk water. I carried Luna out on Wednesday morning. She was happy to go out, but she could walk only a couple of meters. Luna's condition seemed bad. So I called again to Lohjan pieneläinklinikka on Wednesday. The veterinarian recommended to give Luna the last service and I agreed with her. So Luna passed away on Wednesday 2010-08-18.
