Finnish Championship in Valkeakoski

2005-02-05 - 2005-02-06

The Finnish championship in the class of four dogs sprint was arranged in Korkeakangas Skiing Centre in Valkeakoski. Our team consisted of leaders Nome and Jätkä, wheel dogs Uwa and Alaskan husky Vilma. Riitta Kempe loaned us Vilma. Antti worked as musher.

The track was excellent and there were good slopes. It was a pity that the weather was warm and damp.

In the first day Vilma was afraid of our boys. Riitta started just after Antti. She passed soon Antti and Vilma thought the this was the end of the race. Our team was the last but one.

In the second day Nome didn't work well. Obviously the weather was too warm for him. Vilma worked excellently, but we were again the next to last.

This was Uwa's first race. He got good experience. It was a surprise that Nome worked poorly in the second day. Jätkä pulled all the time 100 % as one can expect from Pena's dog.

Because Luna was on a course of antibiotics, she was not in our team.
