Acknowledgements and Updates



Contemporary magazines provided the bulk of information for this list. Because of easy access, the magazines happened to be primarily German language periodicals. Unfortunately, French, Italian or English magazines were not within such easy reach. I have to acknowledge here also the well-intended work and devotion of the writers from the following magazines and to a lesser extent authors of books. Without their dedication and hard labor this list would not have been possible. Ahead of each title are the years covering mountain or hill climbs.

November 1,David McKinney added overall winner of 1936 and 1937 Craigantlet (Belfast), dates for 1946 Val des Terres and Prescott, corrected the June 1949 Prescott winning car, then added Dancer's End, Chalfont St Peter and Croft climbs during the thirties, and for 1931 to 1934 and 1938 the Craigantlet (Belfast) climbs. December 8,Martin Pfundner supplied the correct date, distance and winner's time for the 1928 Arlberg climb; confirmed that the 1930 event was cancelled; gave the correct time for the 1936 Ecce Homo; changed winner for 1929 Gaisberg and deleted the 1936 and 1937 events. He also added the 1927 and 1928 Wurzenpass climb, deleted the 1929 event and corrected the winner's name for 1930. He changed the winner for the 1925 and 1927 Tauern climb, added the 1900 Excelberg climb, changed the winner for the 1901 and 1902 events, changed the type of car for 1904 event. Changed detail information for five Riesberg events between 1907 and 1921. The Zbraslav-Jílovišt? event between 1908 and 1914 were actually held in Austria because Czechoslovakia came only into existence after WW I, in 1919. Therefore the country designation was "A" for Austria, marking the events held before 1919. For the same reason the 1905 Ecce-Homo event was changed from "CS" to "A". Also the winner for the 1926 Zbraslav-Jílovišt? hill climb was changed to Elisabeth Junek who with her 2-liter Bugatti sports car beat several racing cars, amongst them her husband's racing Bugatti. He added FTD winner at the 1925 Zirlerberg event, where the 1932, 1933 and 1934 climbs were can- celled and removed from the list. The 1923 event at Pötschenpass received a new FTD winner and the 1934 climb was cancelled and removed from the list.
