The species was reported for the first time in Finland from Hanko in May 2004 by Olavi Helminen. Note that this is one of the earliest Cucullia species. The larvae can be found also by day. Several color forms of the larva are illustrated in Ebert. They are said to prefer the yellow part of the flower - common species like Lacanobia contigua have sometimes similar feeding habits.
