Persialainen/ Persian Cat

Minulle persialainen on yksi kauneimmista kissaroduista mitä on olemassa. Erityisesti minua viehättävät persialaisen kauniit avoimet silmät, kaunis tuuhea ja pitkä turkki ja ennen kaikkea persialaiskissojen ihastuttava luonne. Paljon on puhuttu persialaiskissojen turkinhoidon vaativuudesta ja aikaa vievyydestä, mutta itse olen huomannut, että oikealla turkin hoidolla persialaiskissan turkki on yhtä suuri- tai pienitöinen kuin esim. kauniin Maine Coon:n turkin hoito. Kummankin rodun kissojen turkki vaatii ajoittaista kampaamista ja pesemistä, jotta turkista tulisi kaunis ja kiiltävä.

Persialaisen luonne on moninainen. Yleisesti persialaista kuvataan rauhalliseksi kissaksi - mikä osaksi onkin totta, jos vertausta tehdään esim itämaisiin. Mutta persialaisen luonne pitää sisällään myös muuta kuin rauhallisuuden. Aivan kuten muutkin kissat persialainen on hyvin seurallinen, leikkisä ja utelias kissa - joskus ehkä liiankin utelias kun pitäisi tehdä esim tietokoneella jotain tai lukea päivänlehti. Periaatteessa voidaan sanoa, että persialaisen tulee saada olla mukana kaikessa kodin touhussa kukin oman mieltymyksen ja kiinnostuksen mukaan.

Persialainen on loistava kissavalinta niille, jotka nauttivat kauniista ja persoonallisista kissoista, jotka haluavat jakaa lämpöään omistajilleen niin kesän lämpiminä hetkinä kuin talven pimeinä iltoina.

To me the Persian cats are one of the most beautiful cats in the world (together with Maine Coons), especially their open expression, wonderful big eyes, long soft coat and the just loveable personality. Persian cats are a correct chose for such people who just want to enjoy the sweetness of the cat.

When we think about Persian cats, first what most people remember is the short nose and especially that long coat, of which they unfortunately calculate too often as a minus point to the cat. It has been quite funny to see that people are afraid to chose a Persian cat, because they assume that the taken care of the Persian coat is more of less close the rocket science. Well, this is not true. To me to take care of the coat of Persian cat requires as much or as less work as taking care of the coat of Maine Coon cats. Both of these coat types needs to be take care of - washing time to time and combing - so that it looks and feels soft and shiny.

In addition, sometimes people may have wrong idea about the personality of the Persians. Even if most of the time the Persian cats are calm, there are times when you will surprise to see the real temperament of these cats. This temperament is shown only when it is really needed to be shown - so don't be surprise when you see this little cat in different kind of mood.
