First half January 15, 2001. Second half February 11, 2002. My relation to skulls was initiated by an anti-smoking TV ad that I saw when I was about 4 years old. In the ad, a man and a woman were smoking and watching a large wardrobe. As the camera zoomed towards the closet it was silent except for a noisy clock ticking on the wall. Then, suddenly the door banged open, revealing an animated skull laughing maniacally. Needless to say, that freaked me out like nothing else in my life, and it took well into adulthood before I could look at a skull objectively, seeing it as the artistic piece of structural engineering that it is. Damn those bastards for their dirty trick but then again, I haven't started smoking either.
