Brief
Lic. Soc. Sc. Teuvo Peltoniemi is the Executive Director of Sosiomedia, a media and research agency. He is a journalist and researcher specialised on social and health topics, emigration, and most recently, on the use of internet and mobile tools in psycho-social issues.

He was for over 20 years e.g. the Communications Director and Editor-in-Chief of Tiimi Journal and AddictionLink at the A-Clinic Foundation in Helsinki, Finland. He has previously worked as a university teacher and researcher as well as journalist for the Finnish radio and television and video companies, and developed domestic and European prevention projects.

On European level he is Founder and Honorary President of the European Prevnet telematic network, and Vice President of the European Encare Network on children in substance abuse families

He organized for 26 years popular annual European cooperative seminars about substances for the media (Päihdetiedotusseminaari).

Mr. Peltoniemi has written, edited or translated 17 books on alcohol, drug policy, family violence, utopian emigration, traffic and telematics. He has presented some 200 papers at international conferences round the world.
