Guestbook late -99

In the late 50's, when he had quit the "Devil R&RLittle R came to akron as a preacher at a traveling revival show> In true Happy Days fashion, myself and 3 friends went to see him preach and sing. Being the only 4 caucasians in the audience was a little shaky for 16 year olds, but unfortunately LR would not touch the piano-" I still have the devil in my fingers"` but he was even more dynamic as a preacher. 43 years later- He's still going strong-God Bless

Little Richard has given me joy and inspiration, and is my favourite singer of all, since I first heard Lucille on the radio in 1964. I was lucky enough to see him twice during his tour of Australia in 1974 - quite unforgettable. I've had tragedy and grief in my life, and Little Richard's music has always brought happiness and healing. So if you read this, Richard - thank you!!

Hi  Little Richard   You   or  so  Funny   on  T.V.
Ashley Burke 99-11-20

Mr. Penniman: I have listened to all the rock n rollers from all eras: elvis, the stones, beatles, springsteen, and good as they all are, if you'll permit me to say: you have thouroughly and completely and utterly kicked ALL their asses. And here's the funny part: every single one of them would totally agree with me!
Mr. Penniman: about that damnfool VH1 thing: don't let it bother you, television can't NEVER get nothing right! WE ALL know better!
Mark Brewer 99-11-16

I'm so glad I found you
Polly 99-11-15

Little Richard is the one and only King of Rock & Roll. Long Live The King!
Ben Madrid 99-11-07

You, Richard are my all-time favorite '50's artist. This is ironic since I am primarily a guitar player & the guitar is definitely not showcased in most of your songs. You are the Voice of rock & roll. My only beef would be that the piano playing needed to be more up front in the mix. You are an outstanding pianist. I watched the Sally Jessy episode that I videotaped a few years back & I was just wishing she would be quiet & let you just play that piano. You should consider making a piano teaching video. If you should ever need a guitarist, bassist or drummer and you feel led to give an Indiana musician a shot, please let me know. I would be honored. Email me for a link to my website. KEEP-A-ROCKIN'!!!
Tim Mendenhall 99-11-01

Hi Richard. You are the King of Rock 'n' Roll!!!! I saw you 3 times: 1993 in Wettingen, (Switzerland), 1996 in Pori (Finland) and 1998 in Zürich (Switzerland). Your last concert was the best because You played with a very good band (two drummers). Your voice is still the best. I'm 25 years old and a fan since 1984!!I very much would like a autographed picture of yourself please. If there are any fans who would like correspond about Little Richard: Mail me! rrey@dplanet.ch Greetings from Switzerland!

Timo:  You are maintaining a great web site for Little Richard - the true architect of rock'n'roll!  I have been listening to Little Richard's 'Lifetime Friend' album (WEA) lately.  It strengthened me in my faith in the Lord back in the mid-eighties (along with his testimony in Charles White's biography "The Life & Times of Little Richard.")  Still, years later, it is remains a blessing to me.  May I ask the other Christians who read this to keep Little Richard in their prayers - that he will hold fast to the faith that has inspired so many of us.  I may never get a chance to see him live on this earth, but one day I'll see him in heaven.
Rob Donison 99-09-03

Thank you for your book and autograph. I'm 12 yrs old, my mom works with your nephew in Palmdale. He is very nice. I feel that you are a very nice person also.Tonight I am sad because I asked my tap dance teacher if I could please dance to Tutie Frutie or Long Tall Sally in tribute to you, she won't let me. She likes the songs but not the words. She thinks when there is alot of singing you can't hear the tapping. I don't have a copy of your music without the words. I am sorry.  I wanted to do the dance really good and send you a tape of it just to tell you thank you. I will keep trying to talk her into letting me dance to your song. I will let you know what happens.  My mom just told me you are comming to Lancaster California on November 20th to have a show.  I hope she can afford to buy tickets and take me. I would like that. I hope my dream will come true to go and to go see you back stage. I know alot of people must ask you this. But I will say a special prayer for this. My address is 40338 179th St East, Palmdale, California, 93591. My telephone number is 661-264-0222. If you ever are not busy and want to just say hi.My moms email is manyadix@earthlink.net. Mike to Little Richard, Greetings! - Just a note of appreciation for 40+ years of enjoyment. Do you recall the best show you ever did, at the Brighton (England) Hippodrome about 1960? You had Sounds Incorporated as backers and Gene Vincent sang from the front stalls, and I deliberately missed the train home and hitched 40 miles after midnight!   Thanks again!

Firstly, thank you Paul Caporino for the delight of living vicariously through your plane ride with Mr. Penniman. It must have been an honour indeed.  Hey as far as monarchy, Richard's just what is needed to shake up the system! A man for the people, his music was the cornerstone freeing the oppressed, (the Emanicpator), and continues to have a profound impact on the youth of today.  God Bless Richard!Well, I am very pleased to have the opportunity to see Richard in Ottawa on Thursday at our Blues Festival.  I'll be lining up very early to get to the front to see this very classy performer.  Roses will be in hand as well. Should I take pictures I will send copies to Timo, and hopefully all at this wonderful page can see them. Thank you Mr. Penniman for gracing our city, and you will be greeted with a very warm and rousing welcome.  Can't wait to see his wardrobe for the evening, wow has that man got style!!!!!Blessings,Miss Ann

I was going back to Chicago after visiting my family in New Orleans, waiting in the boarding area, when all of a sudden this commotion starts coming from the security area.  Some man hollering about something or other.  So I look down towards the security area and see a bunch of big black guys in suits walking in a circle formation, and of course in the middle was Richard being pushed along in a wheelchair, griping and carrying on, "This is ridiculous!  I never had to ride in a wheelchair in all my life!  I feel like Aunt Jemima or somethin'!"  He got to the ticket desk and was still carrying on.  When he stood up it seemed that his back may have been hurting, but it also seemed like he was creating a ruckus for the benefit of everyone in the waiting area.  Anyway the flight was held up and Richard and his entourage (bodyguards, musicians and valet) boarded first, then the rest of us mortals boarded last.On the plane he was really nice.  As we filed past him in his first class seat he greeted us all like a king would his court.  I tipped my hat to him and mumbled something respectful - I forget exactly - the only thing I could think of was that this is the closest thing to royalty we have here in the United States.  I also tipped my hat to him when I passed going to and from the bathroom.  I didn't want to appear disrespectful.  When the plane landed in Chicago Richard remained seated while everyone filed off the plane, and I tipped my hat one more time and told him it was an honor to share a plane ride with him (even if he was in first class and I was in economy).  I didn't tell him the last bit in parentheses.I went right home and put on my Little Richard records.  I remembered how on the plane ride I kept thinking how many people decided to play rock'n'roll because of Little Richard, and how many performers developed their singing and performing styles from listening to and watching  Little Richard. So anyway, today's a special day.  It's my favorite Fourth of July ever, because I realized that!
if you insist on having royalty to bow to, better to have someone like Little Richard (although I can't think of anyone quite like Little Richard) who has practically changed Western Civilization through his joyful noise and the force of his personality than to be forced to worship some monarch simply because they were born to a higher station.Hail Richard, the King of America.
