This was done with Overcaster 2 Scene 4 plus an additional 2 distant lights spinning for the main directional light with both affecting dif and spec on.
The snow/steam or whatever people imagine it to be was HV sprites which accounts for the intersection artifacts. Unfortunately this increased rendertime beyond expectations. A bit of post in Photoshop but not much. Its pretty much as rendered.
Its a T-34/76 with flamethrower. Circa 1944/5. From a long suffering personal project thats turned into a test for different techniques and approaches for the whole process. LW 6.5b2.
